Who we are
Fiona Campbell
Co-founder of AILTS, independent Language Consultant , Business English teacher, Teacher Trainer, Author and Life Coach. Qualified RSA CELTA, LCCI CertTEB; co-author of Clockwise Intermediate Resource book for Teachers (Oxford University Press), author of How to easily write effective e-mails in English, Fiona was Director of Studies, Training Manager & Teacher Trainer in two top language schools in Rome and is highly experienced in level testing, language auditing and gap analysis.
Fiona has over twenty years experience in the TEFL business helping extremely busy people reach a high level of proficiency in the English Language and training and developing teachers to be the best teachers they can possibly be. She has always been a great believer and supporter of Continuous Professional/Personal Development (CPD) – the process of becoming the best you can in all areas of your life, realising along the way that everyone has an enormous potential within them and truly wanting to facilitate and encourage this potential to emerge.
Her approach to teaching and coaching is always learner-centred; tailor-making courses and programmes with interactive, relevant and effective materials; encouraging trainers to actively listen to learners in order to genuinely help and support them in their learning process.
Suzanne Thompson
Co-founder of AILTS, qualified TEFL teacher, Independent Language Consultant, Language Mediator and Translator, she specializes in one-to-one tutoring for both young and adult learners and exam preparation. Suzanne has a passion for language learning and has a bachelor’s degree in language mediation.
Suzanne travelled the world for four years managing an international team of staff working on cruise ships where she had the opportunity to meet and work with people from a multitude of different cultures. It was through this wonderful experience that she developed her passion for international networking and cross cultural awareness.
Wanting to be ashore again, Suzanne decided to seriously study Italian, took a TEFL qualification and moved to Italy to teach English. She has now been successfully teaching English to people of all ages and levels for over six years. She strongly believes that each student is an individual whether it be on a one-to-one basis or a group lesson; therefore each study programme she creates is unique and based on the goals of each student. Suzanne is committed to her own continuous professional development and her experience, expertise and enthusiasm are essential elements within AILTS.
