The Lesson Workshop ™

Association  of Independent Language Teachers and Services (AILTS) is an association created for teachers of all languages. It was founded by two EFL  (English as a Foreign Language) teachers, Fiona and Suzanne, who have gained a realm of hands on experience from working both for schools and independently. Through AILTS they want to share this invaluable experience with fellow teachers, be a valid source for materials, offer support and guidance as well as provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) tools.

“The AILTS workshops have enabled me to share ideas with a real mix of foreign language teachers from all over the world. The informative workshops have given me refreshing and unique ideas that I have been able to incorporate into my lessons”.  Alex P. (English Teacher)

The Lesson Workshop™

AILTS set up The Lesson Workshop™ in Rome in March 2011. The idea behind The Lesson Workshop™ was to create a professional, supportive and friendly environment for independent language teachers of all languages to be able to grow, share ideas, experiences and network with fellow colleagues. It can be lonely out there, whether you work independently or for a school as, unfortunately, not all schools have the desire or the possibility to support and offer guidance to the teachers who work for them. How do we know? We’ve been there! We want to inspire you with fresh ideas to ensure you always feel enthusiastic about your work while helping you to evolve professionally.

“Ailts workshops are a perfect way of getting rid of those cobwebs we create in our teaching methods when we become stagnant and repetitive.”
Maria M. (English Teacher)

Have you got some great activities or ideas to share?

Come along to The Lesson Workshop™. Let’s share our ideas together. You’ll get plenty of fresh, practical and proven ideas to put into practice in your next lesson!

“Fiona and Suzanne’s workshops recharge my teaching batteries by providing me with lots of new ideas and ready-made materials as well as giving me a chance to meet colleagues from other schools and exchange ideas or resolve problems.  Highly recommended”!

Sue W. (English Teacher)

“I took part in the workshops and I found them cleverly and beautifully arranged with interesting, important teaching topics and the right mixture between concepts from books and personal experiences. In fact, I particularly liked the possibility to discuss teaching problems and to gain experiences/ideas from each other. You can really see that Fiona and Suzanne love their job (really important aspect in teaching) and they communicate their passion and expertise in an efficient and, at the same time, easygoing way.”  Andrea G. “I have found the workshops organized by Fiona and Suzanne with teachers of English and German as 2° language very helpful, especially for those like me (I teach Italian) who are not very expert yet. Among the difference regarding the language taught, the meetings have brought out useful teaching techniques, practical advices and exercises to improve as teacher and help our students to learn, memorize and reuse what they have studied.”

Danilo S. (Italian Teacher)
